Alex Argo

Alex teaches Meditative Yin on Thursday evenings and Slow Flow on Friday mornings.

Alex Argo

A devoted practitioner and student for many years, Alex Argo felt a deep calling to share yoga with others. In 2018 she had the honor of journeying further on this path by completing her Krama Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training through Illumina yoga under the guidance of Johanna Bell, Kathleen Savoy, Melissa Lopez Landers and Maria Wagner.

Alex is a deep believer in the therapeutic qualities of yoga practice; that movement, breath and stillness can have profound effects on well-being. She feels passionately that there is a form of yoga for every body despite age, physical limitations and fitness levels. Her mission as a teacher is to create an atmosphere of inclusion and accessibility to all levels of experience and ability.

Alex hopes to inspire practitioners to bring mindful movement, breath and alignment off their mats, promoting greater body awareness and overall health and well-being.

Aleksandra Townsend

Aleksandra teaches Slow Flow on Tuesday evenings.

Aleksandra Townsend

Aleksandra found yoga in 2001 during her first visit to Maine from Poland and she was drawn instantly into this transformative and healing practice.

She completed her initial 200-hour vinyasa teacher training with Yoga Source in Richmond, Virginia. She holds 40-hour Prenatal Training with Still Point Healing Method, Shiva Shakti School of Yoga, and Kids Yoga Teacher Training with ChildLight Yoga. Additionally, she has a strong background and certification in Pilates, Ayurveda, and is a Usui Reiki Master.

Aleksandra completed her 500-hour advanced Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga of Energy Flow. She additionally completed Yoga Nidra and Thai Yoga Bodywork training with Shiva Shakti School of Yoga.

Her teaching style is heart and alignment driven with a therapeutic lense. She strives to create a safe space for healing to occur across all ages and levels of experience. Aleksandra recently graduated from Physical Therapy Assistant Program and currently works full time in a busy orthopedic practice seeing patients for orthopedic, neurological and pelvic health diagnoses.

When not teaching, Aleksandra enjoys being in nature, travelling and spending time with her children Axel and Konrad.

Katy Christie

Katy Christie

Katy Christie is an RYT200 Yoga Teacher, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, group fitness instructor, and holistic nutritionist/health coach, dancer, and performer based in Southern Maine.
Katy has always been passionate about movement in all its forms from dancing as a child to when she started teaching group fitness in college. Over her 20+ years of teaching movement modalities, she has gravitated toward more subtle, less intense movement practices, which led her to Yoga-based fusion fitness in 2013.
In early 2019, Katy began designing her own movement modalities (liit/HIIT and mindful fitness) as she wanted to integrate her years of learning into formats that felt truer to her nature and focused on joyful movement.
She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Yoga Muse School of Yoga (and Bridge Studio at Art of Awareness) in the summer of 2020. This training was deeply rooted in Yoga's foundations, trauma-informed practices, and inclusion.
Katy is a firm believer that yoga, movement, and wellness practices should be available to all bodies and backgrounds. She aims to create a body-positive, welcoming, and accessible environment for everyone. Her dream is that anyone can walk into her classes (or work with her 1:1) and feel respected, safe, and celebrated, regardless of identity or socio-economic status.

Sri Devi Melissa Urey

Sri Devi Melissa Urey, Intuitive Healer and Spiritual Coach, Usui Reiki Master Level Teacher/Practitioner, Sound Healer, ERYT- 500, Sanskrit and Mantra Teacher, Meditation Guide

Sri Devi Melissa Urey

Sri Devi Melissa Urey (RYT 500, Usui/Holy Fire ART Reiki Master) has forever been drawn to the union of mind and body in the present moment and the learning that can take place there. Coming from a background in theater and dance, she began sharing this as an important life skill with children of all ages through those mediums.
Finding yoga while in recovery from surgery, Melissa realized that everything she loved most about teaching theater, she could share even more deeply through yoga. She completed her 200HR YTT with ShivaShakti School of Yoga in 2016 and her 500HR YTT in 2018. She has done specialty trainings in Yoga Nidra, Pranayama and Meditation and Children’s Yoga with ShivaShakti and Restorative Yoga training with Margo Rosingana. A great lover of Sanskrit and the Bhagavad Gita, she currently studies both with Prem Sadasivananda from whom she received her spiritual name in 2017.
More recently she has begun to share her strong affinity for healing with others. Through studies with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) and Melissa Rose Redman she acquired her Usui/Holy Fire ART Reiki Master certification in May 2019. Melissa also facilitates the 6@6 Collective Healing Meditation Facebook group to assist in a global effort to pause and send healing energy every evening at 6pm.
Allowing the awareness to come out of the busy mind and be aware of how the body feels is a guiding force in all of her classes. Her classes are accessible for all levels of practice.
Melissa is honored to be a part of the Rosemont Wellness Yoga team.

Jamie Navarro

Jamie Navarro

Jamie first made her way onto a yoga mat in 2005 after swimming-related shoulder surgeries left her without this meditative outlet. Having never considered yoga before, she was amazed, humbled, and instantly hooked.

Jamie started her yoga teacher training journey in 2011 with one of the first yoga studios in DC, Tranquil Space (which later became a part of YogaWorks). She then taught in DC and Northern Virginia before coming back home to Southern Maine in 2019.

Jamie gravitated toward the Roll Model® Method to help her chronic low back tension and aid in her recovery as she attempted to start a running routine. She enjoys sharing her approach to mobility and myofascial release with others to help their bodies move through this world with a little more ease.

Jamie lives with her spouse, two kiddos, an aggressively affectionate rescue pup, and a never-enough collection of plants. She's also the owner of Renew & Restore ME,  which offers a unique blend of Reiki, yoga, breathwork, and ball rolling techniques designed to rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit. During her free time (ha!), she gravitates toward climbing, floating, and enjoying all that living in Maine has to offer.

Kate Somerville

Kate teaches classes focused around centering, grounding, and finding the strong places within ourselves to heal and nourish our bodies and spirits from a place of empowerment and love.

Kate Somerville

Kate Somerville is the owner and principle massage therapist of Saltwater Wellness on Brighton Avenue in Portland. She began practicing therapeutic massage in 2011 and added Thai bodywork to her toolkit in 2016. She has always been curious about movement, breath, and meditation, and how these practices can connect us to ourselves, to each other, and to the greater whole.

Having dabbled in the yoga world for nearly two decades, she became fully enamored when she tried her first Yin Yoga class in 2021, and then Restorative Yoga shortly thereafter.  She is thrilled to add these transformative practices to her ongoing studies in other systems from around the world, including Reusi Dat Ton, Tao Yin, and Qi Gong.

Kate teaches classes focused around centering, grounding, and finding the strong places within ourselves to heal and nourish our bodies and spirits from a place of empowerment and love.  Whether the message is to be strong, or to surrender, Kate believes that compassion and safety are key, and that we cannot truly help each other if we are not first helping ourselves.

She is grateful to her many teachers, and for the opportunity to share these impactful practices with others.
