Katy Christie is an RYT200 Yoga Teacher, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, group fitness instructor, and holistic nutritionist/health coach, dancer, and performer based in Southern Maine.
Katy has always been passionate about movement in all its forms from dancing as a child to when she started teaching group fitness in college. Over her 20+ years of teaching movement modalities, she has gravitated toward more subtle, less intense movement practices, which led her to Yoga-based fusion fitness in 2013.
In early 2019, Katy began designing her own movement modalities (liit/HIIT and mindful fitness) as she wanted to integrate her years of learning into formats that felt truer to her nature and focused on joyful movement.
She completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Yoga Muse School of Yoga (and Bridge Studio at Art of Awareness) in the summer of 2020. This training was deeply rooted in Yoga's foundations, trauma-informed practices, and inclusion.
Katy is a firm believer that yoga, movement, and wellness practices should be available to all bodies and backgrounds. She aims to create a body-positive, welcoming, and accessible environment for everyone. Her dream is that anyone can walk into her classes (or work with her 1:1) and feel respected, safe, and celebrated, regardless of identity or socio-economic status.
